Taboo Topics host Mary Frances Emmons is a veteran journalist, serving nearly 20 years in multiple print and multimedia roles at the Orlando Sentinel, followed by more than a decade as a writer, underwater videographer and social media influencer for Scuba Diving magazine. She is a native of Orlando — fun fact: Mary Frances was actually born at Orlando Health, on the site of its downtown flagship campus — and was educated at Brown University and the University of Georgia. At age 6, she began vocal training in sacred and secular music, eventually performing in a half-dozen Orlando indie-rock bands. Today, she sings with Winter Park's Bach Festival Choir and lives with her husband in downtown Orlando.
